In Bollywood, she has marked her debut as a lead actress with Solva Sawan (1978), she gained

wide public attention with blockbuster movie Himmatwala (1983). She appeared in a string of

(1989), Lamhe (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Gumrah (1993), Laadla (1994), Judaai (1997)

In 2012, Sridevi returned to films after a 15 year long hiatus with English Vinglish and

became the only actress in the history of Hindi Cinema to make a highly successful

comeback.[11] In 2013 Government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest

civilian honor. She was also voted 'India's Greatest Actress in 100 Years' in a CNN-IBN

national poll conducted in 2013 on the occasion of the Centenary of Indian Cinema. In her

career, Sridevi has won five Filmfare Awards including a Filmfare Special Award.

Sridevi announced her comeback in early 2011, while working in a new film English

Vinglish.[85] directed by Gauri Shinde (R. Balki's wife). Her return was officially

announced at the IIFA Awards 2011 held in Toronto with a montage of Bollywood stars

welcoming her back. After the Toronto premiere, some international media outlets hailed

Sridevi as the "Meryl Streep of India."[86][87][88] Two weeks later America's entertainment

weekly Variety wrote in its review of English Vinglish that it found Sridevi "Disarmingly

charming in a manner that recalls Audrey Hepburn."[89]

On release, the film and Sridevi's performance received positive response. The Times of

India gave it 4/5 calling it "Easily one of the best films of 2012...Sri's performance is a

masterclass for actors...Request you to make a little place next to you, Rajkumar Hirani;

Gauri Shinde has taken a bow in mainstream Bollywood."[90] Another 4/5 came from Raja Sen of

Rediff who found the film is "a winner all the way...Sri excels in fleshing out her

character."[91] Critic Subhash K Jha gave a 4.5 saying Sridevi "makes the contemporary

actresses, even the coolest ones, look like jokes...If you watch only two films every year

make sure you see "English Vinglish" twice!"[92]

Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN gave it 3.5 stars saying Sridevi delivers "a performance that is

nothing short of perfect...It's warm and fuzzy, and leaves you with a big smile on your

face."[93] Anupama Chopra also gave it 3.5 calling it "that rare thing...Sridevi doesn't

miss a beat. Her performance is a triumph."[94] Firstpost's Rubina Khan gave the film a full

5/5 saying "Sridevi brings acting back in English Vinglish."[95] Komal Nahta said it was

'beyond stars' applauded Sridevi saying she "makes the best comeback in Bollywood history

and delivers a landmark performance."[96] Social movie rating site MOZVO gave it 4.1 out of

5 putting it in 'Must Watch' category.[97] Amer Shoib of The Cinema Journal gave it 4/5 and

called the film "a hilarious, touching, sensitive, and sweet film that marks the triumphant

come back of India's biggest female star...Sridevi."[98]

With the worldwide triumph of English Vinglish, Sridevi, most probably, became the only

actress in Bollywood to make a successful comeback as a leading lady after marriage and a

long hiatus.[11][99][100][101] Box Office Capsule hailed the film and Sridevi's return as

"Golden Comeback of the Queen."[102] Director Gauri Shinde featured in the Financial Times

2012 list of '25 Indians To Watch'.[103] Film critic Raja Sen from Rediff explained why she

is ranked as No. 1 "This is a simple film where things are credible, never melodramatic, and

Sridevi – in a range of well-picked cotton sarees – always judges the tone right. It's the

sort of performance younger actresses, including the ones on this list, should learn

from."[104]

Sridevi emerged as the most-admired Bollywood actress of 2012 in a mobile survey conducted

by Vuclip, world's largest mobile research company.[105] Furthermore, she was nominated for

Best Actress in most of the award ceremonies, including the Filmfare awards, where she

received her ninth nomination for Best Actress.

Sridevi was born in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu on 13 August 1963 to Telugu mother Rajeswari and

Tamil father Ayyapan.[2][107] Her father was a lawyer. She has a sister and two step

brothers.[108][109] During the 1980s, Mithun Chakraborty had a love affair with

Sridevi.[110][111][112] Sridevi had fallen in love with Chakraborty on the sets of Rakesh

Roshan's Jaag Utha Insan.[113][114] Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty are rumored to have got

married secretly and later Chakraborty admitted it to the press but only when a fan magazine

published their marriage certificate.[113] Sridevi married Boney Kapoor, a film producer and

the elder brother of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, in 1996. They have two daughters,

Jhanvi and Khushi.

Taapsee Pannu (born 1 August 1987) is an Indian model-turned-film actress, who has worked in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi film industries. Taapsee worked as a software professional and also pursued a career in modelling before becoming an actress. During her modelling career, she appeared in a number of commercials and won titles such as "Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face" and "Safi Femina Miss Beautiful Skin" in 2008.
After a short stint with modelling, Taapsee made her acting debut with the 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam directed by Raghavendra Rao. Since then, she has appeared in a number of critically acclaimed films such as Aadukalam, Vastadu Naa Raju, Mr. Perfect, and Vandhaan Vendraan. Her Tamil film Aadukalam met with critical acclaim and enjoyed commercial success upon release and eventually went on to win six National Film Awards at the 58th National Film Awards. She has also worked in a Malayalam film and has been signed in for three Telugu films and a Hindi film. She was awarded Most Enthusiastic Performer-Female Award at the 2014 Edison Awards for her performance in Tamil film Arrambam.[4]

Early life and family[edit]
Taapsee was born on 1 August 1987 in New Delhi to Punjabi family,[2][3] India. She has a sister named Shagun Pannu and plans to launch her into films as well.[5] She did her schooling at the Mata Jai Kaur Public School in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. After completing her graduation in computer science engineering from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology in New Delhi,[6] she worked as a software engineer.[7] Taapsee has developed "fontswap", an application for the iPhone.[8] She became a full-time model, after she auditioned and was selected for Channel [V]'s talent show Get Gorgeous, which eventually led her to acting.[9] Taapsee has appeared in numerous print and television commercials and won several titles during her modelling days, including "Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face" and "Safi Femina Miss Beautiful Skin" at the 2008 Femina Miss India contest.[7][10] As a model, she endorsed brands like Reliance Trends, Red FM, UniStyle Image, Coca-Cola, Motorola, Pantaloon, PVR Cinemas, Standard Chartered Bank, Dabur, Airtel, Tata Docomo, World Gold Council, Havells and Vardhman.[11] She has also been featured on the cover of some magazines such as Just For Women and MaaStars.[12][13] After a few years, she lost interest in modelling as she thought that she could never gain proper recognition through modelling but only through films, and finally decided to act.[14]

Taapsee made her cinematic debut in 2010 with K. Raghavendra Rao's romantic musical Jhummandi Naadam.[15] She played the role of a daughter of a US based millionaire who comes to India to carry out a research on traditional Telugu music.[16] Taapsee got three more offers in Telugu prior to the film's release.[16] Her next film Aadukalam (2011), marked her debut in Tamil cinema. She played the role of an Anglo-Indian girl falling in love with a rural fellow played by Dhanush.[17] The film, set in the backdrop of Madurai, in a rural background, and revolves around cockfights. It was critically acclaimed and proceeded to win six National Film Awards at the 58th National Film Awards. Speaking about her role, a reviewer from Sify explained that, "Debutant Taapsee is a promising find and she suits the character of an Anglo Indian girl to the T."[18] She returned to the Telugu film industry with Vastadu Naa Raju (2011) which featured her opposite Vishnu Manchu.[19] She made a foray into the Malayalam film industry later that year, through Doubles (2011) opposite Mammootty and Nadiya Moidu.[20] Paresh C Palicha of Rediff commented that, "Taapsee Pannu as Saira Banu, whose entry into the scene becomes the bone of contention between the siblings, has nothing noteworthy to do".[21]
Taapsee played a short role in her next release, Mr. Perfect (2011), in which she acted alongside Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal was a moderate success.[22] She starred in a high budget film titled Veera (2011) opposite Ravi Teja and Kajal Aggarwal, that received moderate reviews.[23] She was next seen in her second Tamil film Vandhaan Vendraan that fetched mixed reviews and did not fare well at the box office.[24] Her next film was Krishna Vamsi's Mogudu where she acted as a traditional Telugu girl opposite Gopichand and garnered critical acclaim for her performance. She is currently working on the Tamil–Telugu bilingual Gundello Godari—titled Maranthen Mannithen in Tamil—[25] apart from Daruvu and Shadow[26][27][28] She also made her Bollywood debut through Chashme Baddoor where she shares the screen with Siddharth and Rishi Kapoor. The film is a remake of the 1981 film with the same title.[7][29][30] Taapsee was also approached to dub the voice of Hollywood actress Katee Sackhoff in the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of the science fiction film Riddick, but declined the offer due to her prior commitments.[31][32] Her other upcoming films include Arrambam opposite Ajith Kumar, Muni 3 opposite Raghava Lawrence and Running Shaadi.com alongside Amit Sadh.[33][34]

actress samantha unseen hot boobs armpits navel thighs cleavage spicy show - samantha wiki

Samantha Ruth Prabhu (born 28 April 1987) is an Indian film actress and model, who mainly works in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. Samantha was raised in Chennai and pursued a career in modeling during her late teens. Despite signing up to Ravi Varman's Moscowin Kavery in 2007, her first release was the critically acclaimed 2010 Telugu romance film, Ye Maaya Chesave directed by Gautham Menon. She went on to appear in several commercially successful Telugu films like Brindavanam, Dookudu, Eega and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. Her 2013 film Attarintiki Daredi is regarded as the highest grossing film in the history of Telugu Cinema establishing herself as one of the most sought after actresses of her time.

In 2013, Samantha became the second actress after Revathi to win both the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress in the same year, for films Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Eega, respectively.

Early life and family

Born on April 28, 1987 to a malayali mother and a Telugu father, Samantha was raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu becoming fluent in Tamil language. Despite her mixed ethnic background, Samantha has cited that she sees herself as a Tamil, as she was brought up speaking Tamil and English at home. As part of her education, Samantha completed her schooling from St.Stephens Matriculation school, Pallavaram, Chennai and did her Higher secondary in Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, T.Nagar. She graduated with a commerce degree from Stella Maris College, Chennai.

Career

Debut in 2010

Samantha's first release was Indira Productions' Gautham Menon directed Telugu film, Ye Maaya Chesave. The film simultaneously made in Tamil as Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, created much anticipation prior to release, primarily due to the first-time-collaboration between Gautham Menon and composer A. R. Rahman. The actress was signed up for the project in mid August 2009 and completed schedules across India and the United States and the film was released in February 26, 2010. The film portrayed Samantha as the lead character of Jessie, which was also the working title of the film; a Malayali Christian girl living in Hyderabad, whom the male protagonist, played by Naga Chaitanya falls in love with. Upon release, Samantha received very positive reviews for her portrayal, with film also garnering much critical acclaim. Critics at Sify claimed that Samantha was the "scene-stealer" and her beauty "is alluring" adding that "she was the girl to watch out for".[10] Jeevi, from the Idlebrain reviews site, cited that "Samantha’s debut is one of the best heroine debuts in Telugu cinema" and that her "minute expressions she gave spoke volumes about her", whilst labelling the film as a "classic". Samantha, alongside her co-star, Naga Chaitanya, also appeared in a guest appearance in the Tamil version of the film. Both films emerged as grand successes in Tamil and Telugu respectively, propelling Samantha to sign bigger projects. She followed up her collaborations with Gautham Menon and A. R. Rahman by appearing in the music video for the World Classical Tamil Conference 2010 promotional song, Semmozhiyaana Tamizh Mozhiyaam, which Menon directed and Rahman composed.

Samantha's next release was the Sathya Jyothi-produced romantic drama, Baana Kaathadi, opposite Adharvaa, which was actually the third Tamil film signed by her, but released first due to delay of the other two projects. Following terms agreed in early 2009, the film continued shoot for a year and after several postponements finally released in August 2010 to positive response. In the film, Samantha plays a student of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), the first such role in Tamil cinema. Her next release, was Ravi Varman's Moscowin Kavery, initially her very first acting assignment, which began in August 2007, with Samantha, then briefly known as Yasodha, joining the team later in the year. The film introduced a host of new actors, with music carried out by Thaman, then making his debut in music composing. In an interview, much prior to release in 2008, Ravi Varman mentioned that he had decided that Samantha would be the lead actress for his film within three minutes after viewing one of her commercial assignments. In the interview, he went on to describe her as an actress with "intelligence" and "potential", whilst drawing comparisons with noted actress, Revathi. However, due to Ravi Varman's date conflicts with his projects as a cinematographer, the film languished in development hell, eventually releasing in August 2010. The film gained unanimously poor reviews from critics, however Samantha's performance was labelled as one of the sole highlights that the film offered. Samantha, during the making of the last three releases, had also signed up for the Narain starrer, Pookada Ravi in August 2008 to play the lead role of a modern girl. Despite the film continuing schedules at regular intervals, the film was stalled throughout 2009 and is unlikely to be released. Samantha went onto feature in Vamsi Paidipally's Telugu film Brindaavanam in which she had a supporting role alongside NTR Jr and Kajal Aggarwal. Her role of Indu was well received despite being shorter in screen time than her previous roles and the film became her second successful Telugu film.

2011 - 2014
In 2011, Samantha made a guest appearance as a mentally ill patient in Gautham Menon's Nadunisi Naaygal, before featuring in the big budget Telugu film, Dookudu, alongside Mahesh Babu. The film was a blockbuster. The film opened to positive review with critics from CNN-IBN labelling the film as "a treat for Mahesh's fans", adding that Samantha "looks good in song sequences" The Times Of India also praised the film mentioning that "Samantha looks beautiful and has done a great job, though her role as Prashanthi isn't too lengthy". The film took the largest ever opening for a Telugu film and grossed INR12.58 crores on the first day of its release. In 2012, Samantha made a guest appearance in Gautham Menon's Ekk Deewana Tha which was the remake of director's own films, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Ye Maaya Chesave, repeating her role from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. She then featured in S. S. Rajamouli's live action Telugu-Tamil bilingual project Eega/Naan E which was also dubbed in Hindi and Malayalam. The film was a blockbuster and Samantha was praised for her acting. She then signed on Gautham Menon's trilingual project, playing the female lead in all three languages — Telugu, Tamil and Hindi and shooting all scenes thrice with different co-actors across languages. The Telugu and Tamil versions titled Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu and Neethaane En Ponvasantham released in December 2012, while the Hindi version, Assi Nabbe Poorey Sau has been shelved.

In the beginning of 2013, she appeared in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu that featured Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu in the lead, marking her second film with Mahesh Babu. The film was critically and commercially successful and her performance was praised by critics along with the other female lead, Anjali. Mahesh S Koneru of 123telugu.com commented on her performance stating "Samantha is beautiful and adorable in this movie. Her cute expressions and romantic scenes with Mahesh Babu make you want to root for her". IBN Live too commented positively on her performance stating "Good to see Samantha shed her glamorous side and welcome performance-oriented roles, which she only handles with deftness and ease". Later, in February, she played the lead role in Nandini Reddy's Jabardasth co-starring Siddharth. The film, which was an unofficial remake of the 2010 Hindi film Band Baaja Baaraat was commercially unsuccessful. Oneindia Entertainment in their review commented "Samantha has good scope in the film and her bubbly characterisation is entertaining. The actress will surely impress you in both romantic and emotional sequences. Her belly dance in the song 'Meghamala' is very hot". She then starred in Trivikram Srinivas' Attharintiki Daaredhi with Pawan Kalyan, which released to positive reviews and is touted to become the highest-grossing Telugu film of the year. Samantha's next film Ramayya Vasthavayya directed by Harish Shankar, featuring NTR Jr  released to mixed reviews on October 11, 2013. Autonagar Surya opposite Naga Chaitanya under the direction of Deva Katta will be Samantha's first release in 2014.
